2010 Chester County Wizards 15U - Head Coach: George Rule

2009 Season

Having experienced great success at the national level the previous two years, the main focus of the 2009 Chester County Wizards U14 team was to play a college exposure schedule, competing in the nation's premier showcase events along with some of the most competitive tournaments in the region, including the Mid Atlantic Regional Championships. The goal this year was to provide development along with visibility, giving all our players the opportunity to be seen by the colleges.

The team participated in the Boo Williams Spring Invitational in Norfolk in April, the Blue Chip USA Invitational at Penn State, and USJN 14U National Championships in Washington DC in July and Blue Chip Basketball Fall Ball Classic in October. The combined record for the exposure tournaments was 14-5, including many games against 15U teams. The Wizards finished in the top five in both the Blue Chip USA and USJN tournaments with their only looses coming against the eventual tournament champions.

The highlight of the season was the Wizards first place finish in the Mid Atlantic AAU Regional Championships, their second time in the last three years. An impressive semifinal victory over a very talented and previously unbeaten Chillies team from the Harrisburg area and a victory in the finals against the reigning regional champs, the North East Rockers, capped a 5-0 weekend and first place medal.

For the season, the team won over 80% of their games, playing a significant majority of their games against U15 and U16 teams. Most of their losses were by 4 points or less, which is a testimony to how hard they play. Congratulations to an extremely talented group of hard working student-athletes that experienced another outstanding season, enhancing their skills and knowledge of the game, while cultivating a reputation that many coaches from colleges and universities enjoy watching play. Continued success Wizards!
